the autumn edition routes

132k - 2700m

karmeliterplatz - fasslberg - kumberg - gschwendt - göttelsberg - haselbach - brandlucken - sommeralm - fladnitz - arzberg - burgstall - angerkreuz - jägerwirt - theisslwirt - martinelli - kalkleiten - hohenberg - rinnegg - fasslberg - karmeliterplatz

if the autumn is golden and sunny around graz (and it will be) a ride up to the sommeralm via brandlucken is a rewarding pleasure. especially if you take your time for a stop in the sun, rehydrate and refill your empty carbohydrate or keto-reservoirs by simply eating delicious sommeralm-food. for instance at the weitzer hütte!

on the way back we ignore the big car park called teichalm and head immediately down towards the slightly hidden but steep and quiet ascent to angerkreuz via arzberg/kaltengraben/burgstall. followed by the narrow and a little bit rough roads along the far side of schöckl. nice views and nice little restaurants (jägerwirt, theisslwirt) guaranteed. but keep your eyes on the streets. they are tricky.

from kalkleiten via hohenberg to rinnegg we continue this almost full tour along the schöckl mountainsides. riding back down to graz from rinnegg is fast and pure fun.

congratulations!

enjoy your after ride drink/beer at kirbys directly at karmeliterplatz!

if sommeralm is - for what reason ever - no option for you, just shortcut the long route by going down to arzberg (around km 40) and enter the track again at this point. if you need a refreshment, just stop at the church in arzberg where you will find the kirchenwirt. the rest of the route is identical. challenging fun all along the way.

85k - 1300m (without sommeralm and angerkreuz)

sometimes less (altitude) is more! or at least enough. if you prefer to take it easier in autumn just ride from arzberg via the highly attractive gollersattel. and from there to kreuzberg and st. radegund/rinnegg back to graz.
